Gordon Halm speaks to MCC African Club
Recently Gordon Halm spoke with members of Middlesex Community College's African Club. Students were inspired by Gordon's life experience and also learned a great deal about the African Community Center establishment, challenges and achievements.


UML Innovation Hub Rep Visits the ACCL

Judge to visit the Center.
March 4-10 is National Judicial Outreach Week. During this time a judge from the Massachusetts Commonwealth will visit the center and speak about the importance of an impartial and independent judiciary governed by the Rule of Law. The presentation at the center will take place on March 10. More information about this prevention will be posted as it becomes available.

Halm to Speak to MCC African Club
On February 21, Gordon Halm will speak with the African Cultural Club at Middlesex Community College. The African Cultural club is for all students interested in the people, culture, politics and history of the African Continent. The club promotes cultural appreciation, leadership development and social activities with other students. The club will benefit from hearing Halm's personal journey as well as his mission to motivate students in education growth and development.


Nobel Peace Prize Winner to Visit the Center
On April 12, 2018 the African Community Center of Lowell will welcome Tawakkol Abdel-Salam Khalid Karman to the ACCL for a presentation. Tawakkol Abdel-Salam Khalid Karman was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011 in recognition of her work in the nonviolent struggle for the right of expression, the safety of women and women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work in Yemen. Karman became the first Yemeni, the first Arab woman and the second Muslim woman to win a


ACCL Receives MLK Service Award
On January 30, 2018 Gordon Halm received the "Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Service Award from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The Martin Luther King Jr. 2018 award dinner event took place on Tuesday January 30th 2018 at the prestigious building housing the Moloney hall at University Crossing in Lowell.
