"Dear Mr. Halm,

I hope you, your family, and the African Community Center of Lowell are doing well at this time.  I wanted to reach out to thank you for the time and energy you put into being my mentor for my internship this year.  I learned so much from working alongside you!  While at internship, it was great to co-MC at the third-anniversary event. It took me out of my comfort zone and introduced me to new people.  I came to realize how beautifully Africans have impacted Lowell. I enjoyed drafting fliers for upcoming events.

Thank you for making the internship impactful. In my work with you, I was able to learn beyond the classroom and learn how to be an effective communicator, how to problem solve, collaborate with others, and complete tasks with my self-direction.  You helped me to expand and strengthen the very skills that will serve me well as I get older and move into college and the workplace.  Thank you very much for providing me with this opportunity.  I am grateful for all you have done and taught me."
